We are a practice studio for meditation. So you can attend our classes to learn meditation in the same way you might go to a karate studio to learn martial arts. If you are interested in learning the art of building a meditation practice for yourself, welcome!
Our "Where To Start" page has details about beginning your journey.
Below is a description of what Mindful Boston is as a school of meditation, and who are the staff, students, trainees and volunteers that keep our institute up and running.
As a meditative arts institute, Mindful Boston is both a practice studio and an adult-ed trade school.
We offer practical learning pathways for building and integrating mindfulness skills.
Mindful Boston's mission is to create access to embodied, in-person, meditation practice.
What is Mindful Boston?
Mindful Boston is a small education organization currently pursuing nonprofit status.
At it's core, Mindful Boston is a trade school that trains meditation teachers in a way that is similar to the way a culinary arts trade school would train chefs.
Your first encounter with Mindful Boston teachers will probably be at one of our public classes, such as Community Meditation Night. The CMN is our version of a "training kitchen" where our meditation teacher trainees cook up live meditations in person, in the greater Boston area.
Our Meditative Arts Institute has a training pathway. Beginners are always welcome to both our Meditation Toolbox course and/or the Community Meditation Nights. Once you graduate from beginner courses, you can continue along the pathway to deepen your practice with more advanced classes.
Additionally, there are some online options as a supplement. Yet, just as with recorded cooking videos, there are more nutrients in a lived experience of meditation.
